Istanbul Turns Upside Down with Stranger Things’ CODE RED

Netflix is taking Stranger Things fans on an unforgettable journey with its new global fan event, “CODE RED.” Ahead of the show’s long-awaited final season, the streaming giant is turning 14 cities — including Istanbul, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, and Toronto — into real-world gateways to the Upside Down.

From bike tours inspired by Hawkins to immersive open-air installations, CODE RED is designed to bridge the gap between screen and reality. Fans will step directly into the eerie world of Stranger Things, experiencing firsthand the nostalgia, fear, and excitement that defined the show’s cultural impact over nearly a decade.

Istanbul Joins the Upside Down

Among the global cities participating, Istanbul promises one of the most atmospheric experiences. Iconic neighborhoods will host themed pop-ups and installations that capture the retro energy of the 1980s — the decade that shaped Stranger Things.
Fans will have a chance to explore the city as if it were transformed by Hawkins’ supernatural aura. Expect photo zones, themed routes, and even re-watch gatherings known as “Stranger Saturdays” — where fans can relive their favorite episodes under the night sky.

The Countdown to the Final Season Begins

Netflix has confirmed that the first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 will drop on November 26, 2025, marking the beginning of the end for one of the most beloved sci-fi sagas of the 21st century.
The CODE RED events aim to celebrate this emotional farewell, offering fans a space to share memories and prepare for what promises to be an epic conclusion.

A Cultural Phenomenon Beyond the Screen

Stranger Things isn’t just a TV series — it’s a global pop culture landmark. With CODE RED, Netflix transforms digital fandom into a tangible, shared experience. The campaign highlights the show’s lasting influence on music, fashion, and storytelling while reigniting the collective excitement that began in Hawkins years ago.

More than a promotional stunt, CODE RED symbolizes the emotional connection between fans and the universe the Duffer Brothers created — a world that blends horror, friendship, and the nostalgia of the 1980s.
